Ikegami TM10-19RHC
Ikegami TM10-19RHC
This would be the highest line count 9/10" tube I've ever found. It's service manual states 450+ TVL, so that means more than 450TVL. The next highest tvl (total vertical lines, or TV Lines) would be the HR trinitrons, for example the PVM 8044Q, and those are labeled as 450TVL.
The more lines the sharper the image can be, or the more detail can be resolved out of smaller size on the image. TVL is a little bit hard to explain, so feel free to look it up if you want to learn more.
But this set is 450+TVL, and I've seen monitors with the same tube marketed as 500TVL, so that's just insane for a set this size.
Plus this monitor uses a dot mask, not slots, not aperture grille stripes, DOTS! That's also just unheard of on a set this size. I've literally never seen it anywhere else aside from these exceptionally high quality Ikegami sets.
Now that we got how incredibly unique, and top of the line this set is I can also tell you another reason why it's great. It offers all the input options. Composite, S video, Component and RGB! How great is that!
No on screen menu, so all the geometry adjustments are inside via pots, which isn't that bad. You can see in one of the photos I have it opened up, and all the adjustments are on that board which folds out. And I did adjust it the best I could for mys setup. The inside of this set was super clean, I'm guessing low hours despite the teeny tiny burn in I see in the corner. Now in normal every day situations, I would have never even noticed the burn in, but if you take a black light out, the ultraviolet light helps illuminate burn in, and I can just barely see something in the top left corner, maybe a couple of numbers. But I can guarantee, you won't ever notice it. it's barely visible with the black light! See all the white image I have displayed in one of the photos to help make that clear.
If you're looking at the monitor straight on, the bottom left plastic corner, and bottom right corner in the front are broken. I super glued a piece back on, and I have the other pieces, but I just figured I should leave it as it is, because A, it doesn't look bad, and B, the person who buys it can glue them on if they want.
Some of these old professional models were made to be used in dark rooms, to stay hidden from the action of the cameras, and this monitor is one of those. What I mean by that is, it doesn't get super bright, and I would advise using it in a dark room. If you're in a dark room, it looks great, but don't expect to use it ful lit room like a regular tv.
I also installed a G1 Modification on this board, which helped sharpen up the image quite a bit. Here's a video about that here:

Overall just a very unique monitor, I love it for what it is.
