13" GE/Commodore 1702
13" GE/Commodore 1702
What makes the Commodore 1702 such a cult classic!? Why does everyone love it so much!? Because it has such a spectacular tube! The Hitachi tube inside is unique, in that it's lightly tinted and the colors just POP!
This tv here came into existence because the Commodore 1702 cannot be rgb modded, but I've always wondered "what would rgb look like on the 1702!?"
Well...here we have the answer, and it's amazing!
I took the one of a kind, Hitachi tube out of the Commodore 1702 and put it into this GE set. The GE set was very low hour, you can tell it wasn't used, no heat marks on the circuit boards. Everything was carefully looked over.
This is one of my favorite sets to play with. The low TVL of the 1702 tube has such a charm. It takes RGB and sync via bnc connectors, and because this set was originally RF only an RCA audio in was added also. I would recommend using external speakers, as with any set, but it works!
